oreganol oil for flu prevention

I hope this isn't a duplicated post as I don't have time to do a lot of research. I am preparing to go on a cruise in a couple of days and as the flu is so widespread I am wondering if oregano oil would be in order. One of the girls going with me has a cold or sinus infections and sounds terrible bu...

Re: Better b.p. Meds? -OR- Better Ways To Lower Blood Pressure?

dboyd98, This may or may not help. There are studies out that confirm that taking olive leaf extract 500 mg twice daily is as effective as captopril which I believe is an ace inhibitor. I took Diovan 320 mg for many years and it simply stopped being effective. At times I had to add clonidine also as ...

Re: I didn't do well on supplements (yet) - Dr pushing Crestor

I took non flush niacin as inositol hexanicotinate last year at 3000 mg daily for s few months at the recommendation of an alternative doctor and it did nothing for the LDL and may have raised the HDL slightly. That was after going off the simvastatin. My cardiologist wants me to take a statin becau...

Re: I didn't do well on supplements (yet) - Dr pushing Crestor

Is there a preferred form of niacin such as regular B3, Niaspan, Slo-Niacin or others? As I recall the last time I tried using niacin my pulse rate went up and I took it too close to when I took blood pressure medication and I got quite dizzy as I imagine the blood pressure was lowered. It also make...

Re: Blockage increase after 20 months Vit C regime

Owen,
Just curious about the remark about lysine and alpha lipoic acid. I always take lysine on an empty stomach but there are many times that I eat 30 minutes later along with supplements that include alpha lipoic acid. Should I wait longer to eat and take the supplements? Thanks.

Re: UPDATE

Thanks everyone. I feel better every day. I guess I am not the best patient in listening to my doctors because one of them suggested that I cut the vitamin c from 18 grams to 9 and the lysine from 6 grams to 3 and there is no way that I would do that. This is the same doctor that told me to check ou...

Re: UPDATE

Thanks, Ralph. I was hoping you would comment on the metoprolol. The cardiologist said it was good for the heart. Knowing that exercise keeps my heart rate lower and knowing that you don't stop a beta blocker abruptly I voiced my concern. He said it was such a small dose at 25 mg and that I should t...

UPDATE

For the past 3 years I have written and reported about carotid blockage. Since taking the vitamin C and lysine there was an ultrasound that showed some improvement but I don't think they have gotten any worse. To refresh memories in Oct 2008 My blood pressure increased dramaticaly, medications were ...

Re: Has anyone not experienced reversal on Pauling protocol?

J. Lilinoe, Sorry to be slow in responding as I have been at the hospital nearly round the clock with my Mom. But I found out something interesting today and thought I'd share. You mentioned vitamin c and yes, Mom has been taking 1,000 mg of vitamin c for several years and she has been taking 4,000 ...

Re: Has anyone not experienced reversal on Pauling protocol?

Thanks J. Lilinoe and SEADOG. YEsterday my mother was admitted to the hospital with a very severe bladder infection and I cancelled the cardiac cath for next week. Very sad for her. She is 90 years old but very with it mentally until 36 hours ago and her behavior is like someone with full blown Alzh...

Re: Has anyone not experienced reversal on Pauling protocol?

Thanks J. Lilinoe for those references. Actually my alternative doctor mentioned nattokinase a few weeks ago and we got side tracked onto talking about time released l-arginine and I didn't get to ask him if I could take the natto with fish oil, and vitamin e since they both have a little blood thin...

Re: Has anyone not experienced reversal on Pauling protocol?

Owen, at least I hope this is not cancer related. I have had category II mammograms since 2000. Last year I passed on the mammogram and had a thermogram and will do the same this year. But I have been overweight much of my adult life and the weight loss has definitely helped with the high blood pres...

Has anyone not experienced reversal on Pauling protocol?

I originally had not intended to post as I didn't want to discourage anyone. I'll try to be not too lengthy. I have been taking vitamin c 18 grams and lysine 6 grams for 3 years now. I thought I had met bowel tolerance sometime ago at 20 grams of vitamin c and backed down to 18 grams. My area of con...

Re: vitamin k

Thanks to all. I just referred back to Dr. Thomas Levy's book and he recommends vitamin K2 from 3-9 mg, a much higher dose than I have been taking. So I trust that completely. I will be seeing an alternative doctor next week and it will be interesting to hear what his opinion is.

vitamin k

I recently read an article in Dr. Stepen Sinatra's newsletter about vitamin K2(as MK7). He stated that calcium regression can be seen at 180-360 mcg daily and it takes 3 years to see regression. I believe in that same article that he suggester 150 mcg twice daily for calcium reversal. I have been ta...
