Vitamin C Forum

In the german "edubily blog" I've read, that high dosages vitamin c damage or impair mitochondria function in cells, according to a new study. Though in this respect Linus Pauling and Matthias Rath went wrong. I've read nearly all the books of Pauling, Rath, Levy, Stone, Hickey, Hoffer and so on, but I've never heard that there is any problem with mitochondria. Do you know the study? Is it a study from BigPharma and not worth reading?

Haven't looked in this research myself yet, but just read in an other thread in an other forum, that one research project identified 75% of all medications tested proved toxic to mitochondria. But rather suspect some unreliable in-vitro assays, which may or may not apply to in-vivo conditions.

Could you link to this blog-post, couldn't find it with references through a quick search.

Yes, it's ridiculous. But edubily is serious. I am convinced, it must be a scrap study from BigPharma.

I'm sure he never even tried high dose vitamin C. Because he only believes crap studies and doesn't know how to evaluate each and any one for oneself, to be able to state that Vitamin C deteriorates mitochondrial health would be common knowledge. Just ask yourself, how many RCTs have been done in humans with high dose vitamin C? Any of them about mitochondria?

Thank you for the informations. I've no doubt, in any case. And take my 10 grams C, 6 grams lysine and 2 grams proline furthermore. You are right, edubily isn't competent enough.
