In Dr. Rath's book he never mentions on how you should be taking Vitamin C. How long before or after food should we take vitamin C. Is it ok to take 30 minutes after or before a meal or do we need an hour?

Thx

Ken

In the morning I take C, Lysine, and Proline 20 to 30 minutes before I eat, same before I eat a late lunch and then again about an hour before bed( don't brush teeth within an hour of taking powder c).

I heard drinking vitamin c is harsh on teeth, my dentist said rinse mouth after with water or mouthwash and chew some gum

I take my prolene and lysine with my C in product called Cardiovascular c. How many grams if C are you taking a day. Do you have CVD

I always rinse too and will report back if anything looks bad at my next cleaning.

I don't have have CVD that I am aware of and have started taking this protocol because I believe in prevention. I was already taking 3 grams of lysine to keep cold sores away and stumbled upon the vitamin C, Lysine and Proline. So I figured I might as well take all 3 since heart disease is the number one issue in our misguided country.

I take 6 grams of C, 4 grams of lysine and 1 gram of proline per day spread out over 3 times per day. Think that is a good idea?

Taking it on an empty stomach works for me. Everyone is different ...and your post is not even readable.with those long words.i have better things to do then research about fat.
I was very sick and Owen and Johnwen have directed me in the right direction.

Guitar player..I am currently taking 6grs of C and 6gms of Lysine and 500mgs of proline. and my heart was fine according to the echo stress test ..my narrowing was in my superior mesenteric artery and superior mesenteric celiac artery.the doctors said no stenting unless 70% narrowed , I was 50% narrowed...now I feel great back to my normal routine..I couldn't eat a year ago ..and am so glad I found this site.

It would be interesting to know if over a year if your narrowing got better, do you plan on getting another test?

Also, the dose I usually see on proline is 1000mg with the C and lysine levels you take. Any reason you stuck with 500mg? I couldn't find much information so just started at 1000mg but might be able to do 500mg.

What bad stuff does taking vitamin C and fat cause. When you say fat do you mean from eating animals? Is that like saying you can't eat an orange after eating chicken?

I did get better am now able to go back to regular routines and I did ask my doctor if she would repeat the mesenteric duplex ultrasound and she said she would not..because she does not believe that Vitamin C has anything to do we my arteries being cleared..and the test is quite expensive ..

yes and dont have fat in the stomach

In the absence of lipid, vitamin C prevented the formation of N-nitrosodiethylamine and N-nitrosopiperidine and decreased the formation of N-nitrosodimethylamine and N-nitrosomorpholine 5-fold and 1000-fold, respectively. In the presence of 10% lipid (a food matrix component for processed meats), the presence of vitamin C increased the formation of nitrosodimethylamine, nitrosodiethylamine, and N-nitrosopiperidine 8-, 60-, and 140-fold, respectively. Thus, the presence of lipid converts vitamin C from inhibiting to promoting acid nitrosation

Can you break this down to something I can comprehend?

That sounds typical. It's great to hear you are doing better and I saw in another post that your lp/a is down a lot. Does your doctor not wonder how that happened?!?!
