Chest Discomfort on Pauling=therapy

Post by ofonorow » Fri May 02, 2008 9:19 am

Dear Dr. Fonorow,

have written you last July 2007regarding my husbands heart condition.. We are the ones from the Philippines, and it is my husband who was diagnosed last July to have 80% blockage on his 2 majorarteries and 50% on the other artery.. I have ordered lots of Ascorsine from you, some was shipped directly to Manila but the rest I had to use our friend from California to do theordering and shipping to not encounter a problem
from the customs especially shipping vitamins in a powder form. Before he was diagnosed, he never had any symptoms at all, that was why it came to us in a bit of shock.I still remember that you have informed me that his case was a typical vitamin C deficiency..Anyway, lately he started getting some chest tightness and we don't know if the tightness has something to do with his blockage.. His last blood (April 10, 2008) test was good. total Cholesterol at 188 mg/dl &nbsp;<br>(normal range 50-200), ;triglycerides at 39mg/dl (normal range 15-150), HDL at 44 mg/dl(norm range 40-60), LDL 127mg/dl (norm range &nbsp;0-100) which is a bit high, Fibrinogen at 347.2 mg/dl (norm range 153-377), Ferritin at 165.9Ng/ml (norm range 32-284), CRP is negative, serum homocysteine is 6.5 umol/l (norm range 5-15).

He's taking the ascorsine until now religiously.. This is really a big puzzle to us as to why he's getting the tightness and it actually started a couple of months ago.. Is the tightness part of the healing &crisis or is it possible he's getting worse?? He's afraid to go to the doctor now just in case his condition is getting worse and doctors might tell him that he needs to be opened up. That's he last thing he wants to do now.. He has been on the vitamins for almost 9 months &already and we're actually starting to believe that blockage should be less by now but why does he get the tightness now that he never had before..

Have you ever encountered a case like this before?

Your reply will be greatly appreciated..

Thank You Very Much,

Did he experience any relief, did he feel any better ever, (or has he generally been symptom free?) This "tugging" is it related to anything, such as exertion? Or is it random? How often?

I would NOT stop the A-9, but i WOULD start taking at least 500 mg of vitamin C (such as a 500 mg table of ascorbic acid) every 4 hours between A-9 dosages, while we figure this out.

If here were taking 2 servings of A-9, he would be getting 6000 mg of
vitamin C. Well, depending on his diet, etc., he might require 10,000,20,000 mg and in rare cases, 60,000 mg of vitamin C for the best of health.

On the other side, his numbers are all good. (I can't believe they
list 50 as the low for total cholesterol. Are you sure that isn't 150 mg/
dl, as he would be dead if his cholesterol was only 50.)

We would be glad if you post this to the forum, So i can monitor too
if other people would give recommendations. We would also welcome very much your recommendations on which one has to be eliminated since we really are just trying our best hoping that whatever we do will work..

Thank You!

I combine the citrulline with his Arginine following the the book
of Dr. Ignarro (Say NO to heart Disease) for the Nitric Oxide. His
recommendation from the book is a combination of 5,000mg of L
arginine and 1,000mg of L citrulline.

Thanks for the info.. Should I take out the Citrulline too?

Yes, he's on the 2 jars per month. He takes 4 scoops (2 tablespoons) a
day. He takes, 1 scoop for breakfast, 1 scoop for lunch and 2 scoops
for dinner. It serves as his drink. I also believe that his tolerance
for the vitamin C is an indication of his improvement, since he used
to take almost 20,000 mg with/out bowel tolerance..

His filling is composite. I will try to order the Lypo C products from
Livon labs again. I actually ordered before but I guess I ordered a
lot that most of it became stale. I didn't put them in the
refrigerator thinking it would be OK but I guess the hot climate of
our country made it stale very fast. Is the Vita C forte (fat soluble
vit. C from Dr. Rath) OK too? Do I increase the dosage of his unique
E?? He only takes 1 capsule of unique E (400iu) since most of the
other vitamins he takes has vit. E, like the A9. His total intake of
Vitamin E from all the vitamins he's taking is 1,374 IU.

He is currently taking the super ubiquinol from Life Extension 100
mg but if I combine the rests of the vitamins, his total intake is 127
mg.

I forgot to mention yesterday that he also takes 100 mg of Alpha
Lipoic Acid per day. He gets an injection of Glutathione twice a week
too. Plus I want to add the life extension Blueberry extract with
pomegranate & cocoagold for his additional supplements, and the life
extension DHEA vitamin since his saliva test showed that he needed to
take DHEA supplements, is that OK?

Thank You So Very Much! We're so grateful that a Doctor is guiding us
now with all these vitamin supplements. Very very much appreciated.

DHEA is okay (and orthomolecular)

The Nitric Oxide is also created by other aminos including lysine
so I wouldn't be taking the Citrulline myself, at least until this
is solved.

Nor the pomegranate & cocoagold - too many herb-like things that
he could be reacting too. (For example, it can be dangerous for some
people to eat grapefruit if you are on a statin drug.)

Hope to post today. More at the forum

As I reread, I think of my own father - who died of a massive heart attack without any chest pain what-so-ever. It is at least a possibility that the discomfort/chest tightness is a previously hidden symptom that is no longer hidden. It is not beyond that realm that the vitamin C and other nutrients have awakened that part of the nervous system that was previously dormant.

I am still very interested in whether disengaging the nonorthomolecular components diminishes or eliminates the problem, but he may just be able to sense things he couldn't sense previously. All the numbers are good. The lack of drugs is good. The diet and supplement program are excellent. I'd say, if you can increase vitamin C do it, I might also double the CoQ10 for a time, otherwise I wouldn't be too worried.

Dear Dr. Fonorow,
. I just also saw that you have a new book published, is that book still available? Would be looking forward to reading it and I know it would be as interesting as "Stop America's #1 Killer"..
I learned so much from that book..

I have provided my answers to your questions below and have few questions again. I hope You don't mind..

Will be adding CoQ10 (100mg) for dinner.

I don't know if this is important or has something to do with his heart condition but I will let you know just in case: My husband's body temperature is always below 36 degrees and he always feels cold.

Although his blood test for his thyroid comes out normal though on the low range, the Doctor here diagnosed him to be "Sub clinical Hypothyroid" and he was given "nature throid" ( 1mg) and he takes it every other day. His body temperature elevates a bit when he takes it, otherwise it goes back to being low, averages to 35.2 to 35.5 degrees.

He was also given the Physicians GH (composition of different amino acids that you spray under the tongue to stimulate the growth hormone).. I'm just worried that these things are "orthomolecular".

Also, Here's the formulation of Dr. Matthias Rath's VitaCforte as well =20=

as the link.. http://www.drrathvitamins.com/products/pdvitaforte.html
Cellular Health Formula=99

Our book book should be orderable at http://lulu.com/paulingtherapy

let me know if you experience any problems.

I would recommend Dr. David Brownsteins books, probably the Miracle of Natural Hormones (3rd edition) but I see he has a new book I haven't read - Overcoming Thyroid Disorders (2nd edition). See
http://drbrownstein.com/

Anyway, in his books he discusses the problem with the standard medical thyroid testing, and your description matches precisely. Brownstein also explains the how and why giving natural (armour) thyroid has helped his patients miraculously - and safely. Sounds like your husband would benefit from this information. Is there some reason why he takes it every other day? I would order the Brownstein Iodine book also, as at least one of the thyroid hormones is essentially just an amino acid attached to iodine.

In general, GH *is* orthomolecular, but producing it is the trick. I do know that a product recommended by several chiropractors works, at least for a time, by turning "bound" GH in your system into the useable "free" GH. It is called symbiotropin. This product is really amazing as is the feeling when you wake up the next day, without any of the standard aches and pains.

The only problem, this product doesn't stimulate your body to produce more GH, so the effect while pronounced, doesn't seem to last. I have no idea whether the so-called homeopathic products stimulate GH, but if they do, there should be some evidence, e.g.,
increased muscle tone, less body fat, hair growth, fewer aches and pains, etc.

Thanks for the link, I'll check out the Rath "fat soluble" C product.

Owen, I noticed you mentioned a product called Symbiotrophin in the above post. It seems like I have heard of it. Is it available in the US? You said it freed bound up HGH? I assume you took it from the way you described the feeling. How long did the effect last? How long did you take it? I would think it would be protective against heart disease by virtue of reversing the age related markers.

Anyway, whatever you can tell me about your experience with it woud be appreciated. I have always been fascinated with HGH, I can't afford to try the real thing but Symbiotrophin sounds interesting :)

A chiropractor friend recommended it to me and sent me a book written by the inventor (title/author escape me at the moment.) You can purchase symbiotropin it on the Internet and it comes as a tablet to mix in water that reminds me of alka selzer. The protocol is kind of strange, the instructions recommend taking a few days off, etc.

I don't remember exactly how long it took to feel a remarkable effect, but it may have been only one or two days. As I mentioned, I woke up one morning feeling strange. Finally it dawned on me that I had none of the ordinary stiffness, aches and pains I usually have upon waking up. I felt 20 years younger, and once you feel that way at 50, you can understand why people are sold on HGH. However, the effect did not last, presumably because all the "bound" hgh to free was used up.

Owen,
Have you heard of serrapeptase?
Several people from another forum have said that it clears arterial plaque.

Thanks Owen, I think I will try it. Even if it doesn't last, I'll remember what I'm shooting for, lol...

First, I'm waiting for the results of thyroid and hormone tests from a holistic doctor. If anything is off kilter I'll use bio-identical replacement.

By the way, men should have their hormones checked too.

Hi JL, I was researching Serropeptase for myself and another poster. It sounds great, but a couple of reports showed pneumonia induced by it that quickly cleared whe stopping or administering steroids.

But, the hundreds of positive reports are amazing. The key appears to be proper dose. Here is a comprehensive link.

This is the value of the unified theory. According to the theory, "blockages" or "fibrous aterial thickening" is an evolutionary adaption for low vitamin C. By removing this adaption, assuming the enzyme actually works, without doing something to increase the strength of the arterial wall, you would be creating the preconditions for an anueryism.

Thanks Owen. What you said above makes good sense.
