Vit C & Lysine or Vit C & MSM

Post by javyn » Sat May 24, 2008 8:51 am

I have been taking 500mg lysine and 1 gram ascorbic acid at the same time after a meal several times a day...but last night my friend told me he takes MSM in conjunction with C. I have briefly read it's supposed benefits on sites I found on google, but was wondering what the consensus was around here regarding this supplement. Thanks!

I don't take it. But, I think it may provide some benefit for connective tissue health and possibly as an anti-inflammatory agent. Both of these effects can be helpful with regard to cardiovascular disease.

About a decade ago, MSM was the big supplement. It's popularity has faded but new (and mostly positive) research keeps trickling in about it. Most of the research relates to it's effect on arthritic symptoms.
