Don't know what this implies, but it general some Mg supplemented is needed. The correct amount can be most accurately measured with red blood cell (RBC) Mg. Where the normal lab range is 4.2 - 6.8 mg/dl, optimal for health would be >6. Serum Mg allegedly isn't very accurate for measuring it, since it is tightly regulated in serum. Normal for serum would be something like 0.66 - 1.07 mmol/mol. However, also here there are studies which show that all-cause mortality greatly decreases with serum levels >0.86. Finally, RBC Mg tests are not everywhere available, in which case a whole blood Mg test, which is just the combination of RBC and serum, could substitute.

How much would be needed to get at optimal values is highly individual. For example in my case with a severe deficiency in Mg supplementing above 2 g/d of elemental Mg just prevented most pain-full muscle-cramps, but didn't budge levels in blood even a bid. I'm getting Mg-sulfate IVs for correcting that now.

dr levey says get at least 300mg of supplemental
and MG is one of the nutrients he says you can't overdo
1 vit C
2 vit k2
3 mg

4 vit D(but keep it in a range of 50 to 80 ng/ml range ) per dr T levey
