This is the BIGGEST outright Lie I have read in a while - all of these reported side effects are LIES. And note vitamin C is included in the list of those not to be taken without a doctor recommending it!!!

It just never stops..all the good vitamin C does ..and how can they say those things if they have never done any studies ..it’s just appalling that they would put that out there

Its is more than appalling.. Is there a better word -- heinous? These people have no qualms about lying to the public to protect medical and pharmaceutical financial interests - the people behind and spreading these false reports, that is. (The people who publish these falsehoods are pawns - with large Swiss bank accounts. Internet freedom gives some hope, because the truth at least has a way to get out....)

The key message is that for most of the population, it's best to get these vitamins and minerals from the diet, from foods. That's where they're best absorbed, and they're in the optimal biological ratios.


Which would be wonderful if everyone could eat a diet like their ancient ancestors in the wild.. Since we live in the real world, supplements are health insurance.

It is no wonder that American's believing in the honesty of their free press are so confused! In every case we have ever examined, these pharmaceutical funded "hit-studies" are completely flawed, i.e., the conclusions either do not match the data or are otherwise scientifically baseless. To review one of the more famous, after a '"Finish study" revealed that beta carotene was correlated with lung and other cancers, other researchers with integrity drew an entirely opposite conclusion.

Yale researchers, went back over the same Finish data, explained the flaw in isolating a single element from the data, and revealed that the data when taken as a whole did not show that beta carotene was related in any way to cancers.

The first "hit piece" against beta carotene made news. The Yale correction was a minor blip, generally ignored.

Its the same old story, biased studies cherry picking data that hurts supplements. These phony studies are apparently marketing efforts to prop up sales of pharmaceutical medications by scaring the population away from the low cost way to better health.)

Terrible - telling pregnant women that vitamin C isn't necessary is unconcionable. This report based on "meta studies" and of course there are none for vitamin C w/respect to pregnancy, the vitamin A studies are tainted - trying to scare people away from a simple vitamin that is more effective for soft cancers than chemotherapy.

My wife started at 10 g daily. Easy pregnancy. One childhood disease - chicken pox for one day, one pok. As reported here, if you want your child healthy, happy and strong - supplement vitamin C before conception - through pregnancy, then lactation and into childhood.

The vitamin A scare is also a lie, and the truth is the opposite. Birth defects can be reliably induced in animal models by restricting vitamin A. Vitamin A is vital to avoid birth defects.


For example, vitamin C supplementation alone does not appear to be beneficial, and vitamin C combined with vitamin E from 12-18 weeks’ gestation has been shown to increase risk of foetal loss or perinatal death.

In addition vitamin A is a teratogen, with high intake during pregnancy being associated with increased risk of congenital malformations.

They concluded that while folic acid and iodine are recommended for routine supplementation in order to reduce risk of developing major congenital malformations and support foetal neurodevelopment, supplementation of other vitamins and minerals is largely dependent on a woman’s abilities to meet recommended dietary intakes.

might as well tell people to get protection handwashing is useless, just wash your feet

this goes against just basic science of what vit C does and nothing about smokers/non-smokers, etc
